An individual who is intrinsically motivated is an individual that receives their primary motivation for engaging and or seeking to improve their skills in a given task or activity, from the pleasure or joy that they receive from engaging in a particular activity. A person who is intrinsically motivated will have the drive to complete an activity simply because he or she enjoys the activity and considers it valuable (Spector, 2011).
