There are several interesting points in the reading but Puchalskis article The Role of Spirituality in Health Care seems to stick out the most to me. It is stated within this article Technology has led to phenomenal advances in medicine and has given us the ability to prolong life (Puchalski, 2001). This statement could not be truer, the average life expectancy as of 2015 is 71.4 years according to the World Health Organization (WHO) (World Health Organization, 2017). My biggest issue with this extended life expectancy is the quality of life that people are experiencing.
