In my opinion a counselor should remain value-objective when presented with controversial issues by a client. I dont believe it is my right as a person to judge anyone else for their behaviors or beliefs. Because I do not follow their way of thinking or living doesnt mean I should get them to follow my way. I am not perfect, and each person oversees what is right and wrong for them. An ethical reason for referring a client to another counselor would be due to a lack of skill or competency on the counselors behalf (ACA, 2014).
