The Symposium is a philosophical work by a legendary philosopher known as Plato. It has its origin from 385 to 375 BC. Love is the main theme of this text. It deals with the purpose and nature of love in a way and it comes from the origin of Platonic love. It achieves its purpose by analyzing the number of speeches presented by numerous men on the topic of love, while they were socializing in a symposium and enjoying the drinking as a core activity. Agathons house in Athens was the hub of this symposium.
