When the stock market crashed it cause a turmoil into the era called the Great Depression. After World War I, the economy was doing great and individuals were putting their savings into the stock market. After several years of success, it started to decline rapidly which made investors liquidate their stock which only made it worse. The stock market completely crashed on October 29, 1929 and devastated the economy by losing billions of dollars.
