A: The Crusades During the 11 century the Muslims Turks were in control of the Holy Land. An assembly was called by Pope Urban II, were The Holy Land were discussed. Christians wanted to have control over Jerusalem once again and free the land from the Muslim Turks. Positive reactions to this assembly lead to a series of military expeditions, which is known as The Crusades. All together the Crusades lasted approximately 200 years (Acrobatiq, 2017).

Pope Urban II declared that any casualties would be absolved from all their sins.  This war was promoted as an absolute devotion to God and would prove their love and obedience to God.
