Quality and Safety Quality and Safety is very important for patient care. The primary element of nursing care is patient safety. Every nursing school, hospitals, and clinics focuses first on patient safety. Falls are big problem in every facility. I work in a Hospital and I have noticed that other nurses or even myself sometimes forget to use the John Hopkins Fall Scale. We forget at times to assess risk for falls, assuming that because some of them are not too old, these patients can ambulate safely, but they are still at risk for falls due to sometimes the medications they are talking.
