A1- Geographical Features Greece: The most valuable geographical resource for the Greek civilization was the Mediterranean Sea. Earlier civilizations were built on rivers and fertile farming land; however, the Greek civilization was not as lucky. The land there was primarily rocky valleys that only allowed a few crops to grow, such as grapes and olives. The reason the Mediterranean Sea was so important was because it allowed the settlers to trade through the waterways.
