Influencing Labor Demand The City Police Department is facing a challenge in finding police officers due to factors influencing labor demand. A few of those are needing to reduce overtime hours, increase patrols in high-crime areas, and current employee demographics. The mayor recently requested that the overtime hours of the force be reduced and promised the constituents that more police officers would be hired to achieve this.
