The topic chosen in the first assignment is the social issue of HIV/AIDS. There are many organizations around the globe fighting against this disease. The ones chosen for this assignment are UNAIDS and International Aids Society.

The Joint UN Program on Aids and HIV or UNAIDS aims at reducing the exposure of humans, who are not already affected by the disease. The headquarters of UNAIDS is located in Geneva, Switzerland. The site facility of UNAIDS at Geneva is also shared by the World Health Organization (WHO). The first executive director of UNAIDS was Peter Piot, while currently it is being led by Michel Sidibe.
