The system that I chose to write about is the immune system. The immune system is responsible for the body's immunity (Pruitt, Underwood 2006). One of the responsibilities of the immune system is to protect the body from outside invaders. Cells from the body's immune system searches the body to find other cells that have been damaged, diseased, or have simply grown old and deteriorated (Pruitt, Underwood 2006). The immune system can also go throughout the body to find cells that are abnormal as a result of mutation. The immune system is made up of a network of cells, tissues and organs that work together to protect the body.
