The scientific method has a few steps in which it follows. First there is an observation of a situation to which a question will rise. The question has to be an easy question that can be answered. So after the observation and a question arise then the hypotheses are formed. A hypothesis is a tentative answer to the question. The hypothesis needs to be able to be tested and a correct or incorrect answer will come from it. Hypotheses should follow some guidelines. One of which would be a cause and effect relationship with the observation. The observation would be the effect and the hypotheses would be the cause.
