The oceans comprise roughly 71% of the Earth's surface area. They are the most significant natural source that people have. All life on Earth depends upon our oceans. The weather is influenced partially by the movement of the ocean's currents. The plants inside the ocean create a good deal of the oxygen which we inhale. There are numerous food resources and merchandise that come from the ocean. The oceans also are involved in the shipping of our goods. For all of these reasons, they must be protected against contamination, overharvesting and human caused problems.
