What are the essential tenets of the scientific method, and why is the scientific method important to business research?

In business research the approach to problem, solving can be carried using the tenets of the scientific method. Using these tenets or theories is a surety that the conclusions derived from research data will bring a relative conclusion. This is essential in business research, because we cannot solve the problem or just form an opinion, unless we do the process to find out what happened; hence the name scientific.

Example: Lets us say that the inventory says they spent 200,000 on materials and products, and the books in accounting says they do not have 200,000 in inventory and are short. Yet, Department A has 150,000 in product, and Department B has only 40,000....
