What was the influence of Islam on the arts and sciences? How does the past influence compare with today's influence?

Islam has had a great effect on architecture during its lifespan (Molloy, 2010). Some of the architectural designs that have been introduced through Islam are domes and towers that are designed to create great empty spaces for worshippers to pray in (Molloy, 2010). On the inside of the dome and tower topped structures there is more artistic design included in the walls, dome, and carpet.
