Do you identify Buddhism as a religion? Why or why not? How does it contrast with other traditional religions?

I consider Buddhism a religion. To the people that make Buddhism a way of life it is their religious perspective of the world. Two central focus points in Buddhism are reaching a state of inner peace and finding ways to reduce suffering.

What separates Buddhism from most other religions is that they do not believe in a god that will rescue people from suffering and pain that is experienced in the world.
