Introduction This paper will report an observation of attending an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) support group meetings. The support group was an open meeting, meaning members usually leave and join periodically (Jacobs, Schimmel, Masson, and Harvill (2016, p. 50). Each member shared the commonality of using and abusing alcohol. Jacobs et al., (2016) discussed the importance of looking out for lack of commonality between support group members (p. 43).
