Initial Call - Case 20 You Decide: The Case of Suzanne.
For this post, I am taking on the persona of Suzanne and her point of view; making an initial call to a mental health professional. Symptoms and problems were evaluated from this case study, and a determination was made on how Suzanne might have approached the first call by offering basic personal information and reasons for seeking out psychotherapy. Before I make this call, I visualize Suzanne in a curled up position cradling the phone close to her mouth. The tone of voice is tense, nervous, stressed, and anxious. I am speaking rather fast; almost rambling. The message is coherent, but I am also talking quietly with some emphasis on my parents and things that have happened to me.
