do you think causes phobias? Is it possible to cure phobias? Why or why not?

I believe phobias mainly come from what we observe of others and their reactions to certain situations or objects. I believe if a person is taught or learns to fear certain things then this will follow that person. It began in earlier centuries as a way of (survival)staying out of harms way. If a child is warned of a certain danger this may become a fear. This fear will develop into a phobia. If a person has a bad experience, then a phobia may develop from that actual experience. I believe phobias can be cured. I believe with time and patience a person can overcome their phobia.
