How do you define normal and abnormal behavior? What factors influence your definition? Why?

I define normal behavior as behavior society has deemed as acceptable or for the most part the social norm, and abnormal behavior is behavior that is contrary to normal. I believe since there are different cultures with various beliefs, most people do agree in most all cultures and their societies some behaviors are unacceptable. The laws we have to maintain a civil society helps to separate normal from abnormal. Society takes it a step further and uses medications, therapy and institutions to address abnormal behavior.
