Analyzing Psychological Disorders

Biopsychology uses the biological approach in an attempt to identify and understand psychological disorders. This approach differs from other traditional views of psychology as it aims to recognize natural explanations of disorder rather than focusing on the strict influence of one's environment on development. The following will provide an analysis of schizophrenia and address the areas of the brain affected, causal factors, associated symptoms, the neural basis, and any appropriate drug therapies that exist for treatment. Furthermore, anorexia and anxiety will be reviewed with respect to how these disorders relate to the nature-nurture issue and drug interventions will be examined.
