Nursing Theory The nursing theory that has influenced my values and goals the most is one started by Florence Nightingale. Florence was one of the first nursing theorist in nursing. She started the idea of a maintaining a clean environment had better outcomes than those that did not. Nurses since have used nightingales theory in day to day practices and developed a standardized way of nursing. For example, in nursing school they teach all nurses how to do specific tasks in nursing to standardize care based on newest evidenced based practice.
