The way in which people conduct themselves must contain some form of conformity. Not to say that everyone should be slaves and obey, but to behave in accordance with a general standard regarding morals and ethics. Speaking of slaves, was the abolishment of slavery by Abraham Lincoln morally just, or was there a means to an end of this course of action? Did Abraham Lincoln free the slaves because he felt that it was the right thing to do, or was it just an effort to win the war? Either way, his utilitarian gesture was more favorable than unfavorable to everyone it benefited (Fieser, 2015).
