The role of leadership encompasses many factors. Leader help create the reputation of a company. Therefore, the actions of leaders directly reflect strategic implementation & the outcomes created from implementation. Leaders help maintain the companys mission & vision & guide plans to completion. As Hitt, Ireland, & Hoskisson (2009) state, strategic leadership is the ability to anticipate, envision, maintain flexibility, & empower others to create strategic change as necessary (p. 340).
