Part I: a) After reading Joyce Carol Oates "Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been" and comparing it to the Time Magazine story "Arizona: Growing Up in Tucson" they both describe the same story, but one is a true story and the other is fictitious. The fictional story is much more detailed than the Time Magazine story while the non-fiction simply displayed the facts. Some of the things that were the same in both stories was the description of the boy; slim, stuffed boots to make him seem taller and black hair. Some of the things that were mentioned in Oates story that wasn't in Time Magazine were Arnold Friends exact age, the description of the car, and the ending because in Oates story it is not clear what happened to Connie. I think some of the details were left out of Oates story...
