A myriad of studies on the effectiveness of intervention in juvenile delinquency litter the scientific community. Since the inception of a juvenile justice system in Cook County, Illinois in 1898, governments, both state and federal, have been looking for what works and what does not. Truly evidence based intervention, does not necessarily mean a delinquent will turn from criminality to productivity rather, it allows governments to say that they have tried. The purpose of this research would be to influence and advise policy to put into place concrete, evidence based interventions that make a real difference in the juvenile delinquent's life. The hope being that a life of productivity will commence.
