When I hear I did that with my children and it worked fine for them I just think what may have worked for you may not work for the person down the street. Every child is different. Children respond to different parenting types, some parents talk, some scream, some ground, some hold their child to sleep, some let them cry it out. This is a nature vs nurture type of thing. Every parent has their own preference. It is a trial and error, and it's about the psychological development of the child, just because it works for yours doesn't mean it will work for mine.
