Introduction Within the realm of education, there are four main ideologies, or theories, that educators subscribe to and/or argue against: social reconstruction, social efficiency, scholar academic, and learner-centered. Each of the four possess key elements that distinguish them from one another. In this paper, each of these ideologies will be discussed and evaluated as to their appropriateness to an instructional setting.
