Religion is a very versatile and complex concept which can affect people in many different ways. People who are considered orthodox adhere to their beliefs in the historical form of their religion following established practices, laws and creeds. Many religions still have sects that are considered to be orthodox including Greek Orthodox and Orthodox Judaism. Of these groups, the people who are more stringent in their orthodox views feel an alienation from the larger groups of followers in that religion. Modernization, technology and a progressive society can be contributing factors to these expanses within a culture.
