The founder of the foundation was Robert Wood Johnson, better known as the founder of Johnson and Johnson. From life experiences in the military and working with the public, Robert Wood Johnson decided that improving the health and the healthcare for individuals would be his life's work (Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, 2010).
