Dr. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross is best known for her theory on the five stages of grief. Originally she had written her book based on people dealing with the realization that they were dying, however now the theory of the 5 stages of grief has become used in more circumstances then just that (Patricelli & Dombeck, n.d.). The five stages of grief that Kubler-Ross outlines are: Denial and Isolation, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and finally Acceptance (Smith & Segal, 2013).
