Income impacts included 801 million paid to 18,214 employees in the healthcare sector, and an additional 198 million of income generated for 7,591 employees in the rest of the Mississippi Delta. As a percentage of the economy, healthcare directly and indirectly accounted for 9% of the employment and 11% of the income in the Mississippi Delta.
