HIPPA Evaluation

In 1996, Congress passed the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and in 2002, the Department of Health and Human Services set standards with regard to electronic exchange, privacy, and security of health information. (Axia College, 2011). Some cons associated with HIPAA include the increased use of paperwork; sharing and transmission of health information usually requires filling out numerous forms.
