  Approximately 192,370 women in the United States are expected to be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in the year 2009. In addition to invasive breast cancer, 62,280 cases of in situ (early stage) breast cancer are expected to occur among United States women in 2009 (American Cancer Society, 2009).
