The payment of health care has changed some over the years. Years ago, insurance only covered emergency services and all other services were paid out of pocket. Today insurance covers things like emergency care, office visits, prescriptions, etc. and cover payments right from the beginning. There are still some insurance policies where patients have to pay out of pocket.

 Depending on what policy a person chooses there are different prices and requirements that have to be met.  Some policies people have to meet the deductible before the insurance pays anything other the insurance pays right from the start.  Guess people need to pick which policy suits their needs
