I think one issue elderly people face is transportation. Lots of elderly people cannot or do not drive. They need rides back and forth to doctor visits and even to the store to buy things they need such as food and personal items. If the elderly person does not have family willing to bring them, they have no way to get there.

 Another issue the elderly might face is having someone to help them with task they cannot do for themselves around the house.  Just the other day my husband's grandmother needed help moving some furniture in her house.  My husband went over there to do it for her, but if an elderly person did not have someone to help them they may hurt themselves trying to do it alone.
