Confirmation bias is the act of processing interpreted information but giving it more consideration because it reinforces your pre-existing belief. According to the video confirmation bias is basically the tendency to interpret new evidence as confirmation of one's existing beliefs or theories (Gorbach, 2017). Researchers must be cautious of conformation bias because it can cause them to only focus on one perspective, while ignoring others that can be factual, but irrelevant to that thinkers train of thought.
