Timothy James McVeigh was an American domestic terrorist who detonated a truck bomb in front of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995. On August 10, 1995, McVeigh was indicted on 11 federal counts, including conspiracy to used a weapon of mass destruction, use of a weapon of mass destruction, destruction by explosives and eight counts of first-degree murder. On June 2, 1997, McVeigh was found guilty on all eleven counts of the federal indictment. And on June 13, 1997, he received the death penalty and was sent to Terre Haute until put to death.
