Research indicates that students thrive in courses that foster authentic real world type learning activities that are interactive in nature made possible with education technology. Knowing the right technology to use to support instruction and possessing the skills to use it in teaching and learning means that the instructor has a good understanding of how to employ technology that supports learning (Lever-Duffy, J. & McDonald, J.
