Welcome all reporters to the White House. I have been appointed with the task of getting everyone familiar with the current state of the U.S. microeconomic situation. I will focus on international trade and foreign exchange rates in an attempt to clarify the United States position now and in the future. Macroeconomics involves thinking about the economy as a whole, rather than the actions of an individual and focuses on output, money, and expectations of the economy.
