Week 2
Individual Database Design Paper
Write a 350- to 700-word paper in which you do the following:
Explain what database systems are and how they are used at your workplace.
Define database architecture. For the database systems in your workplace, identify which architecture they fall under.
Define relational database architecture. Consider Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, IBM DB2, and so on.
Include three to five references.
Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.
Week 3

Continue work on Service Request SR-ht-003, due in Week Five, by completing Change Request 3.
Create documentation that explains the process of creating the entity-relationship diagrams in the change request relative to this project.
Individual ERD Creation Project
For this assignment, you are to use the same general material as is used for the Team project. You are to do service requests 2, 3, and 5 of SR-ht-003. The individual assignment portions are due in Weeks 3 and 4, and are purposely being re-used as a learning team assignment to give more database practice to the class. For this week, the individual assignment includes service requests 2 and 3 of SR-ht-003.
The following assignment refers to material found in the Virtual Organizations.
Create a detailed ERD using the Entities and Attributes for Driver's Log document found on the Huffman Trucking Intranet site.
Use Microsoft Access to create the keys and relationships between tables for the Huffman Trucking Driver Log.
Explain the level of normalization and explain why that level is sufficient.
Submit the ERD, the explanation, and the database together.
Week 4
Learning Team Instructions
Continue work on Service Request SR-ht-003, due in Week Five, by completing Change Requests 4 and 5.
Create documentation describing the principles and importance of normalization in relation to this project and the process by which this project was normalized.
Individual Normalization of the ERD
For this assignment, you are to use the same general material as is used for the Team project. You are to do service requests 2, 3, and 5 of SR-ht-003. The individual assignment portions are due in Weeks 3 and 4, and are purposely being used as an individual assignment, and then, as a learning team assignment, to give more database practice to the class.
For this week, the individual assignment includes service request 5 of SR-ht-003. I want you to create six total queries two of which are to be one table queries, two of which must use two tables, and two queries must use three tables (or more).
Also, make any changes to the db based on feedback (if any) from the instructor on your Week 3 deliverable, or you will lose points. .
Use Microsoft Access to create the queries and make any changes as described above (if necessary) on the tables for the Huffman Trucking Driver Log.
Submit the final database.
Week 5
Learning Team Service Request SR-ht-003
Finalize the project work for SR-ht-003 and Change Requests 25.
Compile all documentation from your Change request from Weeks Two through Five.
Submit your teams project work and documentation to your faculty.

Create a 3- to 5-slide Microsoft PowerPoint presentation in which you explain how the principles of database management and your recommendations were applied to the project.
Submit your team presentation to your faculty.
