1. Describe five types of risk and discuss management techniques for eliminating, reducing, or mitigating each risk type. Pure risk is the opposite of speculative risk and entails loss with no beneficial results as the only possible outcome. Pure risk relates to events that are beyond the victims control, like premature death. As I mentioned before, it might be difficult to eliminate the death factor however, about half of all those deaths are due to disease or injuries that we know how to prevent. Tobacco use, alcohol and drug abuse, and poor diet and lack of physical activity, are the three top causes of premature death. Again, reducing risk factors would significantly decrease deaths.
