Nurses who appear into public health and school nursing jobs from mainly hospital-based routine occasionally have complexity adapting to their new positions. The language is puzzling for some individuals. "Public health nursing" and "community health nursing" might be the similar, or may be very dissimilar. Comparing standards of practice may be one way to recognize similarities and differences in nursing roles, although terminology is used interchangeably in the principles (Rothman, 2004).
