Community Policing Community policing, or community-oriented policing (COP), represents a significant change in the way that law enforcement services are provided to citizens. Although often touted as a way to build cooperation and collaboration among residents, community policing requires law enforcement personnel to engage in activities that are often outside of the traditional policing roles (Gayadeen & Phillips, 2014).
