Influenza also known as flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by the influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illnesses and can lead to death depending on vulnerability and comorbidities[ CITATION Cen191 \l 1033 ]. Unfortunately, infuenza can be overlooked as the common cold or stomach bug, it has common symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, runny or stuffy nose, headaches, chills and fatigue or even vomiting and diarrhea. There is a flu season starting in September and extending into March, however you can contract the flu year-round.
