It is equally common for two people not to understand each other. Over and over again, without even knowing it, we embrace certain misconceptions about how to communicate with one another. These misconceptions produce obstacles to engage in operational give-and-take and sincere discussion. To communicate successfully, in other words, to be understood and understand others, based on what I have learned in this course we must acquire a set of abilities that must be learned and practiced.
