Throughout the policing of history the roles of women and minorities has been limited due to discrimination. Some roles of women and minorities throughout policing history excluded them from working many assignments, like patrol, and barred them from getting promotions. The African American police officers patrol in their community that consisted of African Americans families. As well as Hispanic police officers patrolling only in the Hispanic area.
