The role of law enforcement officer has many duties; officers are sworn to protect and serve by fighting crime, maintaining order and conducting other services that benefit the community. Often times, a police officer is considered a crime-fighter, and this image has been enlarged by media attention. Styles of policing must match the community they serve to ensure that the roles of the officers are relative to the community.
