Quality and Safety; As a nurse on a general med-surg floor, quality and safety are extremely important, Safety first, always. In this new era of nursing and personal behavior, safety is no longer just about patient care, but about ourselves. Nurses are more and more the victims of assault by out of control patients and visitors. We need to be better educated in de-escalation techniques and basic safety methods such as always having an exit within reach, not wearing our stethoscope around our neck, no ponytails, etc.
