C203 Becoming an Effective Leader

Introduction Sarah Copp has changed roles at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana multiple times over the past 10 years. She started her career at GSH as a receptionist for two years, then was transferred to a different department where she stepped into the surgery scheduling role, which she held for eight years. She was recently asked to start an entire new department within the hospital, the Precert and Scheduling Department, to which she would lead and manage. She started the department with only two other employees, and it has grown to 18, and has since added another sub-department.
